2008 National Cup Finals
Saturday 5th July

We have 2 teams in the finals this year and it would be a good idea to arrange a coach to take everyone?

If enough people want to go then it could be a good day out.

Those older members will remember when the senior team used to feature regularily in the finals we often had a coach or two! take us to the finals.

Junior National Cup: Semi Final

Herne Bay 4 - 2 Herne Bay UTD

You'll find the best f1 betting here, you have time to get it! On Thursday 13th of March at 8:30pm the Herne Bay Junior team played their semi final cup game against town rivals Herne Bay United. Herne Bay started promisingly with Joe Singleton Scoring within the first 5 minutes, Herne Bay united then returned 4 minutes later with the equalizer from Myles Tichband. Herne Bay Proceeded in having possession of the ball and grew quite comfortable on the ball and with 7 minutes until halftime there second goal came from Richard Butcher. With the score 2 - 1 and 3 minutes on the clock until half time Herne Bay united started creating chances and pushing the game on, Herne Bay replied with a counter attack which lead to Herne Bays third goal from Joe Singleton.

Half Time Score : 3 - 1

HBU came out in the 2nd half and pushed the game on. A well worked move resulted in a goal from Liam Holland. Herne Bay tightened up their defence and United's posession mainly ended in a long shot. The game was in the balance and the next goal was important. There was intense pressure on all the players and it was a case of who could cope with it. Herne Bay kept focused and were rewarded with another goal. Time was running out and the Bay had to keep there heads under some intimidating play from United. The score stayed the same and Herne Bay went through to the finals.

A great result from some young players who I am sure will push for many honnors in future years.A mention to other squad members who did not get on in this game, "you now have the chance to play in a cup final"

Herne Bay: Jamie Williamson (GK), Tom White, Joe Singleton , Daniel Butcher, Richard Butcher, Ben Cox, Mike Batt, George Holmes, James Shepard, Kristoph White (GK)

Premier League Herne Bay v HBU CSL

On Saturday 8th March Herne Bay met HBU CSL at the Pier in the second leg of the Premier League local derby.

It was an exciting physical game with the scoring opened by Herne Bay's Peter Halvorson after seven minutes. CLS continued the pressure with a series of long shots one of which Liam Holland found the back of the net without any reaction from the Bay players. This upset the Bay team and heads dropped to allow a fourth goal from Myles Tichband, to take CSL ahead 4 - 1 at half time.

The second half continued in the same fashion, with Joe King scoring within the first three minutes. Herne Bay continued to press and were then rewarded, after 12 minutes, with an own goal from CLS. This seemed to spur Herne Bay on and they scored two more goals in quick succession. The game was now open and with both teams creating chances it could have gone either way. However CSL's Liam Holland scored the next goal with seven minutes left on the clock and although there was constant pressure at both ends ho more goals were scored.
The final score - HBU CSL 6 - Herne Bay 4

Herne Bay: Jamie Williamson (GK), Robin Cathcart Tom White, Joe Singleton , Daniel Butcher, Peter Taylor,
Peter Halverson ,David Todd, Richard Butcher .

Premier League Herne Bay v HBU

United started well with Barker scoring his first after three minutes. The Bay equalized a minute later with a good finish from Joe Singleton. This seemed to put United on the back foot for a while, but their superior play stretched the Bay and they were back into their stride leading 5-1 at half time

United continued their dominance in the second half and although for some periods of the play the Bay put up a good show United won comfortably 11 - 2.
